Mika Cole – “I Do”

Yesterday my Yahoo newsfeed featured a story about cliche songs played at weddings, and it reminded me of a song I heard sometime ago that would be perfect for such an occasion. Its hard to listen to “I Do” by Mika Cole without imagining the wedding ceremony, and this is not so surprising being that the last line of the chorus is “I can’t wait to say I do” to your lover in a wedding. Aside from making you want to tie the knot prematurely, the song is uplifting and Mika’s vocal talent is undeniable. Whether you’re planning a wedding right now, or plan on it in the future, this is a song you may want to put in your back pocket if you want to avoid being cliche, or if you happen to be a fan of good music.

Dancing – Elisa

Italian pop star Elisa has been enjoying international success since her song “Dancing” debuted on So You Think You Can Dance, but as you can tell when you listen, the dancing is not required as a supplement for this beautiful song. Elisa’s soaring vocals and heartfelt lyrics reflect the scary part of love – holding onto someone with no promise they won’t hurt you – or you won’t hurt them – in the long run. Their dance begins and she goes in with reckless abandon, like many do in love.

So I put my arms around, around you
And I hope that I will do no wrong
My eyes are on you, they’re on you
And I hope that you won’t hurt me

Hey There Delilah – Plain White T’s | Teenage Love Songs

Hey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true

Those lyrics are enough to make any girl’s heart flutter.

“Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White T’s is the kind of love song where you can feel the emotion between the singer and the subject of the lyrics. Teenage love songs like this cannot just be made up. It takes real love to portray the emotion in this song.
